Scott Neckers joined Childs McCune in 2015 and focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, including the defense of medical and legal professionals in malpractice, licensing board, and liability claims. Prior to joining Childs McCune, Scott spent three years as an in-house trial attorney for a national insurance company, where he defended hundreds of individual and commercial policy holders in personal injury and contractual disputes in State and Federal Court throughout Colorado.

Scott has extensive experience in all aspects of civil ligation, from initially meeting with clients, taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, participating in alternative dispute resolution, and representing clients in jury and bench trials.He has obtained a defense verdict as co-counsel in a wrongful death jury trial in Boulder County where Plaintiffs alleged several million dollars in compensatory damages, won summary judgment on a six-figure wrongful termination and defamation case representing a Homeowners’ Association and Board Members in Breckenridge, CO, and has obtained numerous additional defense verdicts as lead counsel in District and County Court Jury trials throughout the state of Colorado defending personal injury and motor vehicle accident claims.

While in law school, Scott served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Denver Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. He also was a national moot court champion at the Tulane University National Baseball Arbitration Competition in 2010 and national runner-up at the same competition in 2011.

Outside of work, Scott serves on the race committee for the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless’ “Home for the Holidays” 5k Race. In addition, Scott enjoys skiing, running, Major League Baseball, spending time with his family, and with his Golden Retriever.
