Erica Gajda

ATTORNEY 

Erica Gajda is an experienced trial attorney, focusing her practice in the areas of healthcare and professional liability defense and litigation. Ms. Gajda represents practitioners and health-related entities in malpractice cases, advocates for professionals in front of all relevant licensing boards and assists healthcare providers in credentialling matters. She has represented clients through all phases of civil litigation including demand letters, initial pleadings, discovery, mediation, motions practice, and trial.

Before joining Childs McCune, Ms. Gajda gained experience in litigation strategy as an associate at a Colorado law firm where she represented individual clients in a broad range of practice areas including probate litigation, elder law, and general civil litigation matters. Through her practice, Ms. Gajda developed effective negotiation and communication skills. She excels at remaining professional while handling highly contentious cases and seeks to obtain the most strategic and amenable resolutions to her cases. Ms. Gajda worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles Pratt (ret.) and the Honorable Judge Michaelson (ret.) of the Arapahoe County District Court.

While attending the University of Colorado Law School, Ms. Gajda participated in the American Indian Law Clinic where she gained experience providing legal assistance in a variety of domestic and international matters, including tribal sovereignty, preservation of tribal identity, and Native lands and resources. Ms. Gajda interned for the Honorable Judge C. Scott Crabtree (ret.) of the Adams County District Court.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Gajda has an interested and varied background. She completed a Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions Program at CU Boulder; an accelerated program designed for students to complete all the undergraduate-level science prerequisites required for professional school. During the program, Ms. Gajda also worked as a Patient Care Associate at Boulder Community Health. She also volunteered with the Emergency Department of Boulder Community Health.  Her experience in the healthcare field helps provide context and shape to her approach to practicing healthcare law.

Ms. Gajda grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She has been in Colorado since moving to Boulder to attend law school in 2014.  In her free time, Erica enjoys trail running, hiking, and spending time with her dog.
