Mr. Rothrock’s practice emphasizes legal ethics and attorney discipline defense, and the law of practicing law. Since 1991, he has represented and counseled hundreds of lawyers, law firms, judges, bar applicants and nonlawyers in all aspects of the regulatory process in Colorado. He has served as an expert witness in dozens of cases related to the law of lawyering. He has also served on dozens of committees concerned with these subjects and spoken publicly on innumerable occasions. He has written extensively. He was the author of Essays on Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct in Colorado (Continuing Legal Education of Colorado, Inc. 2003, Supp. 2008), and the Ethics and Professional Responsibility chapter in CLE in Colo., Inc.’s Annual Survey of Colorado Law from 1999 to 2016, when the survey ceased publication. Mr. Rothrock worked at Burns Figa & Will PC from December 1991 to October 2025, where for many years he was the firm’s General Counsel. He joined Childs McCune Michalek LLC as Senior Counsel in October 2025.
