James S. Bradbury is an associate at Childs McCune Michalek whose practice focuses on healthcare and professional licensure litigation. He represents healthcare providers, licensed professionals, and businesses in complex disputes, bringing strategic advocacy and practical problem-solving to every stage of litigation.
Before joining Childs McCune Michalek, James practiced with an international labor and employment law firm, where he represented employers in a wide range of business and employment disputes. His experience includes matters involving trade secrets, restrictive covenants, employee mobility, wage and hour claims, employment discrimination, contract disputes, defamation, unemployment, and other business torts.
James enjoys every aspect of litigation, from developing case strategy through trial and appeal. His judicial clerkship experience provides valuable insight into how courts evaluate legal arguments. After law school, he served as a law clerk for both trial and appellate courts, giving him firsthand experience with courtroom procedure, judicial decision-making, and persuasive legal writing. He draws on that background to develop clear, well-supported arguments for clients facing complex legal issues.
A fourth-generation Coloradan, James earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude and with distinction, from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School, serving as Articles Editor of the University of Colorado Law Review. During law school, he received the Public Service Pledge Award and the Philip J. Weiser Scholarship, while completing internships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
James is admitted to practice in Colorado and Utah, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Colorado and Utah and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He is also a member of the William E. Doyle Inn of Court.
